Crypto scam
Victim of a crypto scam? The first hours matter.
Fake investment site, fictitious trading platform, drained wallet, blackmail or fake "fund recovery" service: we trace the funds, identify the circuits and build evidence that can be used in court. Here is what to do, in order.
RAID Square is a French investigation firm specialised in cryptocurrency scams. After a fraud, we trace the funds across blockchains, identify the platforms and actors involved, send documented freezing requests and produce an expert report admissible for your complaint, your lawyer and the courts. More than 500 operations carried out and over $1 billion in assets analysed.
The 5 things to do right now
- 1
Stop every payment
Do not pay anything more, even to "unlock", "verify" or "clear taxes" on your gains: that is the second phase of the scam. Stop sharing codes, passwords or your recovery phrase.
- 2
Keep all the evidence
Wallet addresses, transaction identifiers (hashes), screenshots of the platform and conversations, emails, phone numbers, proof of payment, dates and amounts. Delete nothing, clean nothing.
- 3
Alert your bank and the exchange
Report the operation to your bank and, if the funds went through an exchange, to its fraud team: some transfers can still be blocked or traced quickly.
- 4
File a complaint
File a complaint with the police. In France, use the THESEE online platform for internet scams, report the website on Pharos and check the AMF blacklist. Cybermalveillance.gouv.fr guides you through the steps.
- 5
Have the funds traced without delay
The earlier tracing starts, the higher the chances of a freeze. We step in urgently to follow the funds across blockchains, identify the cash-out platforms and send documented freezing requests.

Frequently asked questions
- Can stolen cryptocurrencies be recovered?
- Sometimes, not always. Transactions are irreversible, but funds often transit through exchanges that can freeze them if a documented request reaches them quickly. Tracing also identifies those responsible and builds a case for legal action. Nobody can guarantee recovery: we give you an honest assessment after analysis.
- How much time do I have to act?
- As soon as possible: the first hours and days are decisive, before the funds are dispersed or converted. Tracing nevertheless remains possible months after the facts, in particular for legal proceedings.
- Do I need to file a complaint?
- Yes. A complaint is essential for any freezing request to exchanges, for your insurer and for legal action. Our reports are designed to support your complaint and your case.
- How much does an intervention cost?
- Every situation is different: we start with a preliminary analysis of your case to assess what is realistic, then we offer a clear quote. We never ask for payment in cryptocurrencies or fees to "unlock" funds.
- Do you work with lawyers and authorities?
- Yes. We regularly provide our technical expertise alongside law firms, courts, liquidators and elite government units. Our evidence is built to be admissible.
- Do you help individuals?
- Yes, individuals as well as companies, banks and insurers, in France and internationally.
